Transaction-based Image, Document, and Drawing Management System (IDDMS)includes an embedded discipline that manages the identification, control,and status accounting of documents and drawings. As with the processes ofconfiguration and data management, IDDMS maintains baselines (databases)of released records and files, tracks changes throughout a product's lifecycle, and includes controlled query and reporting facilities.IDDMS software handles all digitized data types intermixed intoappropriate folders and folder classes, so all related information can bestored and retrieved together or as individual folders. This methodologyis designed to manage compound documents and images, drawings, software,video, audio/voice, and FAX.
